Severe Weather Threat Returns Tuesday

The New Orleans area is once again bracing for a severe weather threat.

"Tuesday brings the storm chances, mostly for the morning hours," says FOX 8 meteorologist Bruce Katz. "A line of strong-to-severe storms will cross the state overnight tonight and move into our region early in the morning. There is the potential for severe weather, with damaging winds being the greatest threat. This line also could produce periods of heavy rainfall training through."

While storm chances will be going down mid-week, the temperatures will be going up. Katz says Wednesday's forecasted high of 88 would be one degree shy of that day's record.

However, a strong cold front will bring temperatures back down by Thursday.
