A heavy rain threat remains for south Louisiana from what's left of Nicholas, which was downgraded to a tropical depression Tuesday night.
Despite further weakening forecast, the system is still expected to dump anywhere from five to ten inches of rain across south Louisiana and parts of southern and coastal Mississippi, which remain under a flash flood watch through Thursday morning.
