Duane "Keefe D" Davis says he's innocent and claims to know who really killed 2Pac.

On Thursday, March 6, ABC News aired its exclusive interview with Davis from behind bars. The only man who's ever been charged with the "California Love" rapper's death maintained his innocence and asserted he was nowhere near Las Vegas on the night of the shooting. For the first time since he was charged with the crime, Davis claimed he was at his home in Los Angeles when 2Pac and Suge Knight were ambushed. He also said he has "about 20 or 30 people going to come" who are willing to testify his whereabouts at his upcoming trial.

"I did not do it," Davis said. "They don't have nothing. And they know they don't have nothing. They can't even place me out here. They don't have no gun, no car, no Keefe D, no nothing."

This is the first time Davis has spoken out about the allegations since he was arrested in 2023. The former gang member is accused of orchestrating the shooting on the Las Vegas strip that eventually took Tupac Shakur's life in 1996. 'Pac was on the passenger side of his black BMW when a gunman in a white Cadillac pulled up on his side and opened fire. Knight, who was driving the car, was also shot but survived the incident. 2Pac was rushed to the hospital and died a few days later.

Since then, Davis has spoken about his alleged involvement with the shooting video interviews and in a book he co-authored in 2019. Investigators said they built their case off his own words and plan to present more evidence to back up his past claims at his trial next year. After he was indicted, Davis said the claims he made in interviews and his book were for entertainment purposes. During his latest interview, he claimed he never even read the book he co-authored.

"I've never read the book," Davis said. "I just gave him details of my life and he went and did his little investigation and wrote the book on his own."

If Davis didn't do it, then who did? He pointed the finger at Reggie Wright Jr., a former Compton police officer involved with Knight and 'Pac's security detail that night. Wright previously said he was at a nightclub the two victims had planned to visit after the Mike Tyson fight. Davis didn't provide any evidence to back his allegations, but he asserted he wasn't involved.

"Prove that I orchestrated this," Davis said. "Their top witness is the lead suspect, Reggie Wright Jr."
