A former business partner is taking aim at So So Def Recordings founder Jermaine Dupri.
According to court documents obtained by RadarOnline.com, Dupri's Dieniahmar Music LLC co-founder, Eddie Weathers, has filed a $1 million lawsuit against Dupri for reportedly failing to pay him royalties and other earnings.
Weathers claims he was pushed out of the partnership when Dupri inked a co-publishing deal with EMI Music in 2006. Dupri supposedly promised to pay Weathers $238,000 as part of the deal with EMI, but he only received ten grand.
Weathers was also receiving royalty payments from the deal. However, he says when Dupri hired a new business manager in 2011, those payments became less frequent and were often delayed.
